On May 17, Jim and I celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Wish I would have found him earlier in life so we could look forward to 25 more. But he was busy out on the East Coast and I was out West so we’ll enjoy all the years we do have together on this earth and then look forward to eternity together. I love you honey.
We celebrated our anniversary in Bluff, UT. This is where we’ve been camped while exploring the Four Corners and Monument Valley. Our campsite is at Sand Island BLM on the San Juan River. Beautiful campground for $5 a night with our Golden Age Pass.
In the campground there is a petroglyph panel which had some really clear etchings.
Bluff, UT is a small town of 320 people. Historic Bluff City was founded in 1880 by the famous "Hole in the Rock" expedition of Mormon (Latter-Day Saint) pioneers, whose mission was to establish an agricultural community on the San Juan River. The original fort and historic village of log homes was laid out with the church, school, and co-op store in the center, and was surrounded by agricultural fields and orchards. Farming along the San Juan River proved uncertain, for the river either flooded or went dry too often for dependable irrigation.
We went to the Cottonwood Steak House for dinner and it was really great. When we first got there, we were the only customers but by the time we left they were packed inside and out.
We had rib eye steaks which were tender and delicious.
It was a wonderful day and we are looking forward to many more just like it.
We are at 45. Will we see 46? Who knows :~)
ReplyDeleteGlad you found each other, and now you can go coast to coast together.
Let me be the first to say that you two make a great couple! And as great as you both look, it is clear that you are meant to be together. Happy trails.....
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 25 years. Only thing I have ever been together with for 25 years is couple pairs of old socks & a green shirt.
