NIAGARA FALLS

MVI_6790 Our first stop was Niagara Falls. What can I say about Niagara Falls except – WOW!!! It turned out to be a great time of the year to visit the Falls because there weren’t so many tourists. However, there were hundreds of Asians visiting the area which slowed down our entry into Canada. More about that later.

We decided to sign up for a couple of tours of the Falls. The tour company worked with the campground we stayed at (Cinderella Motel and Campground on Grand Island, NY) and they picked us up at the campground. Made it really nice for Jim because he didn’t have to worry about driving and traffic.

We took the morning tour of the American side of the Falls and we also did the Canadian tour in the evening when they light up the Falls. The morning tour took us up the Niagara River Gorge; on the Maid of the Mist boat ride; into the Cave of the Winds and got us extremely wet.

The Canadian tour took us up to the top of the Skylon Tower; to the Journey Behind the Falls; an ice wine tasting; and to their beautiful floral clock.

Hope you enjoy the next couple of posts and the wonderful pictures we took. I may also throw in a short video of the crashing water.

  1. We did Niagara Falls (KOA in Canada) in our previous motor home. It certainly is a nice place to visit. We did the same tours that you did - and we got wet too - but that's part of the fun.

  2. What a gorgeous picture! We tried to talk our daughter into going there on her honeymoon. They went to Disneyland so right after the wedding Terry and I went to Niagara Falls. That was about 18 years ago!
