KINZUA DAM – WARREN, PA

IMG_6761Saturday, we decided to take a drive through the countryside around Warren. Our first stop was at Kinzua Dam.

IMG_6757This dam is one of the largest dams east of the Mississippi. In additional to providing flood control and power generation, the dam created Pennsylvania’s deepest lake, The Allegheny Reservoir, also known at Kinzua Lake.

IMG_6756The Allegheny River flows very swiftly through this area but the lake is several feet low.
