Along the drive through the Avenue of the Giants are several trees that have been "commercialized" but are definitely worth seeing.
One of these is the drive-thru tree. Cars only thought. SUVs would not fit through this tree.
But it's amazing that a tree has a trunk large enough for a car to drive through. We also stopped at the Eternal Tree House - this tree has a 20 foot room in it. I wouldn't stop at this one a second time. 
At this time of year, none of the shops or restaurants are open and there aren't many tourists which makes it a wonderful time to be here. 
You can take your time and drive as slow as you want without making everybody else angry. There are lots of places to pull over and let anyone in a hurry go around you.
