Bent Mountain

Bent Mountain, VA  High 74  Low 52

Jim’s sister, Janet, lives on several acres at the top of Bent Mountain, VA. I am a child of the desert but let me tell you, I think Janet’s home is about as close to paradise on earth as you can get.

I want to share some pictures on the way up the mountain and Janet’s home.

Bent Mountain is a beautiful sanctuary for Janet and her animals. She has many friends and neighbors who help her with all the work involved.

  3. Wow---what a fantastic place for a home... I grew up in Virginia but have never heard of Bent Mountain. The Fall Colors look AWESOME. Does Janet live by herself --with her pets???? Sounds like a really neat lady!!!!!

I published a cute blog today from our vacation in Cataloochee this past week. Check it out if you haven't yet.

  7. I'm with you on loving the desert. Since I grew up in the Northeast, I look at all those pretty tries and think about all the leaves I'd have to rake up! ;c)

  8. Looks like you hit the fall colors at their peak. I love the looks of this place and believe it would be hard to get me off the mountain very often. As I usually do, I looked around on Google Earth, but couldn't find it.
