There is a wonderful rest area about seven miles south of Wickenburg, AZ. We make a point to stop here to have lunch and let the girls wander whenever we travel this highway.
We pulled in and then two fivers pulled in and parked in front of us. You park in a circle around a tree and some land. As we finished lunch and were getting ready to pull out, a semi pulled around us and proceeded to park along side the first fifth wheel in our circle, very effectively blocking our only way out.
Thankfully they were only in the rest stop for about 20 minutes. Jim walked the girls one more time and I read my book.
haha, forced relaxation, the kind I usually need.
ReplyDeleteThat has happened a few times to us as well & I think you did the right thing by being patient with the driver of the truck. We generally find truckers to be considerate.
ReplyDeleteBut, rest areas are so nice. It gives us a place to stop and a place for the dogs to walk. I sure missed the ones in Arizona when they closed them down.
ReplyDeletedarn semi driver!..you think they owned the road or something!?..at least you didn't have to wait long!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the girls didn't mind the delay!
ReplyDeleteHey ! That was us in the Eagle 5th Wheel - and we saw the big truck pull in, and he was just in for a quick stop to fix a hubcap thing on a wheel. He even turned his truck off, and just left the reefer unit on. THat was a beautiful rest stop! Would love to meet sometime - too bad it wasn't there...
ReplyDeleteIsn't retirement nice?! Having time to wait without restlessly tapping your fingers or toes?
