When you leave Las Vegas you have to go over Mountain Springs Summit at about 5500 feet before you go into Pahrump. Everyone calls this “going over the hump to Pahrump”.
By the time we reached the top we were doing about 40 mph but I was really impressed with how well our rig took the long climb.
We are currently in the Escapees Park in Pahrump for the night. A pull thru site which was really a plus.
I love clouds and I took several pictures today of the storm clouds along our way.
What's the park like? Friendly?
ReplyDeletewell the hump didn't look too bad!!..enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures...really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAre you boondocking, or do you have hook-ups?
ReplyDeleteWe were in Pahrump last year. Snow on the mountains was predicted so we had to leave early. The Lavins got it though.
ReplyDeleteThe cloud pictures are really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the cloud patterns:))
ReplyDeleteThat hill into Pahrump is a tough one--we took it one day with a strong wind right in our face--I think we were going under 40mph by the time we to to the top!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you made it over the 'hump! Beautiful photos of the clouds!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! Those clouds brought us some nasty weather here in Cottonwood. They sure were pretty up by you all though!
ReplyDeleteWe've been over the hump. It was further from Vegas than we expected so "running into town" was not so convenient. But, Enterprise delivered a car to us right in the SKP park and we used that rental to go into Vegas to buy a toad for our then new motorhome opening up an entirely different style of full-timing for us.
