As you can see, there isn’t any room for both of us on this road. (One of the joys of traveling two lane roads.)
Luckily, they had sent out an advance crew who stopped us at a small crossroads. We waited there for the house’s slow journey up the road to us. The driver then pulled over as much as he could on the other road and we squeezed around him on the shoulder.
We are really enjoying our journey on the backroads. Last year we did a lot of interstate traveling but this year we have slowed down and are enjoying the journey so much more. Tomorrow is going to be an interstate day because we really want to get to Des Moines and have dinner with Tina and Woody. After that it’s back to the two lane roads.
Ah! A true mobile home. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed you could pass each other even at a crossroads! What a great picture - the house coming down the road toward you!
ReplyDeleteOn your back roads trips, how do you know that you won't be getting into any trouble? I prefer them to interstates also, but wonder how it would be in the motor home.
ReplyDeleteYou call traveling the backroads - shunpiking. Cool word, eh.
