TWO MOON PARK

IMG_2539 Just down the road from us is Two Moon Park. This is a small day use park on the banks of the Yellowstone River. Due to all the flooding this year, the park was closed up until about a month ago.

IMG_2537 Jim and I wanted to take a break so we drove down to the park to see if the flooding had done much damage. Since the park is quite small, there is only one picnic table which is a long distance from the water. So other than losing some of the shore to the river, no damage.

The park is also close to the bike/hiking trail. Billings has a pretty extensive bike trail that runs up over the rims and down along the river. Parts of the trail weren’t useable because the river was over the top of it. But it’s all back into use now that the river is receding.

  3. You said you needed to take a break??? That's like me saying I need a vacation. Maybe we both need to go back to work to rest. This life is getting to us.

  6. I wonder how that Park got it's name. Sounds like an Indian origin. Say, I wonder if that old song from the early 60's, 'Running Bear' has anything to do with those two moons:))
