Friday was Luau time at the Santa Fe RV Park. Jim and I seldom go to the parties here in the park, but we decided this one might be a good time.
They had the party outside by the pool and the weather was perfect. The park provided everything for the party so all we had to do was show up.
Line up for dinner:
Dinner was pulled pork, with green beans, potatoes and salad. Well worth the wait in line.
After dinner was the entertainment – hula girls and guys telling us stories of the islands. (But no fire dancers).
Don Ho serenaded us with his famous Tiny Bubbles.
The really big name of the night was Elvis. Some swooning among the ladies when he came out.
The Entire Cast
The Islanders had to entertain themselves so Pass the Banana teamed the men against the women. Of course, the women won two out of three.
(I really need to apologize for these pictures. My little ole point and shoot just doesn’t do a good job in the dark.)
It was a fun time with good food and friends.
Sounds like a lot of fun!!
ReplyDeleteWe're not much into parties, but that one sounds like it was fun!
ReplyDeleteI played pass the orange as a teenager. Guess the banana is more tropical though. ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad to see Elvis is still going strong!
ReplyDeletep.s. I haven't forgotten your question on OpenID - I'm doing some work on it trying to come up with a simple explanation of what it is and how it works, o.k.
Hey was that you doing the hula dancing on the right side of the picture? Don't be shy, you can admit it, we won't think any less of you... ;c)
ReplyDeleteYou are some wild and crazy guys. Part of enjoying the good life in the west.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful party. Love the theme. Glad you went. But where Re the picture of you and Jim in your grass skirts?
ReplyDeleteWe would play pass the banana at our reunions. What fun.
What a fun time you seemed to have had, and a delicious dinner too. Where there is that long of line the food is generally good.
ReplyDeleteWhat a hoot! Looks like a good time was had by all, and loved the canoe!
