HIGH SCHOOL CLASSMATES

For our 40th Class Reunion, our committee put together a list of our graduating class and where they are currently living. Since I'm living in my mobile home they have a hard time keeping up with me so I try to track them down if I'm in their area.

Well, she's not really from this area but I was lucky enough to track down Betty and Bob. Betty and I graduated from high school together but have lost touch over the years. Then I found out she and her hubby decided to come to Arizona this winter. So I posted a note on her Facebook page and found out that she was here in Apache Junction. In fact, they are just down the street from us. (Small world.)

We were finally able to get together yesterday and had so much fun catching up. Next I need to get hold of Tim and his wife. Also a classmate of ours. They actually live here. What a great life.

HUNGRY ANYONE?

I was craving a hamburger the other night, so I went on line and googled hamburger joints near Apache Junction. This one, at Lindsey & Broadway in Mesa, got rave reviews. I then informed Jim that this is where we were going for dinner. Didn't have to twist his arm - he likes to eat out as much as I do.

Giant Hamburgers is located in a strip mall and if I hadn't read such good reviews, probably would never have stopped here. But I am so glad we did. The hamburgers are fabulous. Exactly what I wanted. We also ordered a fry (really good) but we won't order them next time because the hamburgers are so big there isn't room for fries. We also shared a chocolate milk shake. I can hardly wait to go back again.

We also had the motorhome worked on yesterday. Got the stove burner working, the toilet seal sealing, the squeaky faucet not squeaky, windshield wipers rewired correctly and a few other things. They have to order a new microwave so I'm hoping it will be in next week. Didn't realize how often I used it until I couldn't use it. Didn't have to spent the night in the service bay. That's a good thing.

Spent some time visiting with my sister and her hubby and she fed us lunch. The weather is absolutely perfect. Lovin' life.

THE MUNDANE

It's really hard to update a blog when you haven't been doing anything except the ordinary. Things like giving the girls a bath, shampooing the carpet, actually eating at home, reading a couple of books, laundry, grocery shopping and watching Jim work on his boat.

Jim finally got his boat water ready. He had to completely rewire all of the lights, get the new tires put on the trailer (brand new tires came with the boat), take out of the old seats and put in new ones and who knows what else.

So he is at Canyon Lake today having the time of his life. Wonder if he's catching or just fishing. He will come home happy either way.

The girls and I are having a relaxing day doing more of the usual. I had a migraine the last three days so I am really grateful that I'm feeling so much better today. I used to have migraines a couple of times a month and life was such a struggle to get through especially working. Now I only get a migraine once in awhile and I have no idea what triggers it. Do you suppose retiring helped cure me? Whatever it was, I am so happy.

I LOVE SUNSETS

Those of you who follow my blog know that I often post sunset pictures. I never get tired of enjoying the beauty of a sunset and I want to be able to look back at those pictures when the weather is gray and dismal and there is no beautiful sunset to enjoy.

You will also notice there are very very few pictures of sunrises. There is a reason for that. I don't get up that early any more. I did it for 40 years of work. I don't do it now. So enjoy the sunsets.

NEW MOTORHOME? (NOT REALLY)

No we didn't buy a new motorhome but we did get this one washed on our way back to Apache Junction and it looks like a new motorhome. Instead of a brown color it's back to white. Now I need to really try and get the inside wiped down and clean. That is going to be a major challenge.

We stopped overnight in Quartzsite and this was our neighbor. I'm not sure what advantage it would be because you really give up a lot of space inside your home. But it certainly is an interesting looking rv.

As soon as we got set up in the Santa Fe RV Park Jim went tearing off to get his "new" boat. He is so excited about being able to go fishing he can hardly stand it. Hope the weather cooperates.

Need to get caught up on all the ordinary things - like having the girls' nails clipped, giving them baths, doing some shopping, visiting with my sister, and rearranging stuff in the house.

SISTERLY LOVE

I hit a wrong button on the camera and somehow got it set to black and white instead of color. By the time Jim figured out what I had done, the girls had moved. But I thought they were so cute that I'm posting the picture anyhow.

WIND TURBINES AND FOOD

On our way home from Joshua Tree NP we came through a wind turbine farm. This wind farm on the San Gorgonio Mountain Pass in the San Bernadino Mountains contains more than 4000 separate windmills and provides enough electricity to power Palm Springs and the entire Coachella Valley. It was really something to see.

When we got back home we decided to try out the buffet at the Fantasy Springs Casino. Jeri & Terry said it was really good and they were right. The only problem with buffets is you overeat and then have to roll home. But look at those desserts.
