Apache Junction, Az High 101 Low 68
Starting to heat up here in the valley. We hit 101 yesterday and today. I checked my blog for a year ago and we had 100 degree weather May 2. If anything needs to get done outside it has to be in the early morning or late evening.
However, after watching the weather on TV, I will take our heat over the storms any day.
We went to visit Aunt Happy. She is doing really good. I helped her put her earrings on (she dresses every day with earrings, necklace and bracelets) and her face powder. She had a couple of small chores for Jim to do. Refill her humidifier and hang up some items that she can’t reach. After our visit we walked with her down to the dining room and Jim pulled her chair out for her and then pushed her up to the table. She then told the three other people at her table – “See, this is why I need a man.” I tried hard not to crack up. What a lady.
Now for our new addition: We had a camper shell put on the back of our pick up. That gives Jim more room for his tools.
He decided this would be a perfect time to straighten out one (yes – one) of his tool boxes.
And this is why Jim can fix just about anything that goes wrong.
Ah, you had me at new addition!
ReplyDeleteYou can never have too many tools. Provided you have space to keep all the tools. :-)

Camper shells are great... always liked the extra space when we pulled a trailer! Sending good wishes :)
ReplyDeleteCould have used Jim in fix anything department today!
ReplyDeleteI refuse to let John see all the tools that Jim has! Never, never, never! Really do like the camper shell.
ReplyDeleteCamper shell?..we call them canopies here in British Columbia..
ReplyDeleteNice addition to the truck!
Aunt Happy is just too funny! Nice camper shell!!
ReplyDeleteI miss my truck and camper shell. I keep forgetting how little I can haul in my Jeep and go out to load things (especially from IKEA) and go OOPS! The loading guys have so far always managed to stuff my purchases in, though. I drove Toyota trucks with camper shells for 20 years. I'm not used to having wot worry about it.
ReplyDelete...and I was hoping for a puppy. :)
ReplyDeleteMost of all my tools went away, just not enough rooms. I have enough to get by most of the time for the last 9 years.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how many times I think, "This is why I need a man". A fix-it man is worth his weight in gold!
ReplyDeleteMen do need their toys. Looks like a great solution.
ReplyDeleteWe keep talking about a camper shell too. You can hide so much back there. Congrats on your new addition.
ReplyDeleteEven if I owned all those tools, I wouldn't be able to fix the things Jim does. It takes more than tools!
ReplyDeleteSince Jim is so handy with tools, I think we will camp next to you guys in the future. Always something breaking on RVs and it would be handy to have an expert with tools around. I wouldn't even give him advice as he worked.
ReplyDeleteNice camper shell. We had one on our Ford truck many years ago and loved the usability of it. Back then we towed a trailer and with the pass through window our son could play in the camper shell as we went down the highway. I know, the parent police would not allow that at the present time but it worked for us.
It's in the 90s here in Boulder City and there is a cooling trend ahead. Hope to leave here on Wednesday and continue our journey northwest.
Nice looking camper shell. I'm glad Aunt Happy is doing so well. Yes, it's hot here, too, in Elephant Butte, but not THAT hot! I'd sure be staying inside in those temps, for sure. :)
ReplyDeleteI was thinking maybe the new addition was another doggy.
ReplyDeleteI would be miserable there at 101, and would have long since headed for Montana,
ReplyDeleteThe cowboy said he thinks Jim travels with more tools than he does!
ReplyDeleteOne can never have enough screwdrivers. Good for Jim being so prepared. Maybe one day he and I can get together and compare tool boxes, yes boxes! ;c)
ReplyDeleteAdvantage of parking the 5er and driving the bungalow. When are you guys leaving?
ReplyDeleteTruck top looks great! Additional storage protected from the wx is always a plus. Since we recently moved I should really get motivated and go through my tools too,.
ReplyDeleteThats a neat array of tools.
ReplyDeleteI can never get them organised, but still I manage to get them from the clutter.
Looks like he is pretty well equipped.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is a lot of tools. I can almost fit all the ones I carry in the RV in my pocket:(
ReplyDeleteAnother toy! Looks nice. Yes, you need to get away from that 100 degree heat! We are in TN and so far no storms, just beautiful weather. We will be in Richmond Sat. Will be good to see everyone.
ReplyDeleteIf either of you gets tired of straightening out your tool boxes, I have a basement compartment which needs straightening out and I would love some help!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking.....addition=another dog?
