UNDER WATER

Jeri & Terry weren't quite as lucky as we were. The storm that we expected in Ocala, they actually got here in Mexico Beach. They had about six inches of rain and they got their own private swimming pool. This picture was taken after the way had gone down quite a bit.

MEXICO BEACH, FL

Tonight we are in Mexico Beach. Other Escapees were staying here and I wanted to meet them so we pulled in for the night. Jeri came over to welcome us and told us how to get to the beach. What a beautiful beach. It was windy and cold so we didn't stay very long but if the weather was nicer this could be a perfect place to stay for a week or so.

Went to dinner with our new friends. Meeting other Escapee members is like meeting family. We had a wonderful time and the food was fabulous. As I've said before several times - I love this life.

SERIVCE BAY

After we left Nancy's house we headed for our service appointment on the motorhome in Ocala, FL. They weren't able to finish the work that day so they let us camp in their service bay with electric. Another brand new experience for us. Camping in a service bay. But we sure did have a pretty sunset that night.
They didn't finish the work on Saturday and we needed to return on Monday. We found a Passport America RV park about two miles away. Finished getting the work done on Monday and planned on taking off on Tuesday. However, Mother Nature decided to change our plans once again. A severe thunderstorm was headed our way with winds up to 60 mph and possible tornado. We decided to stay put until the storm passed. And we were lucky - the storm almost passed us by. Lots of rain and one big clap of thunder. That was it. And I am so grateful.

THANKSGIVING

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with old friends in St. Cloud, FL. Nancy wanted things to be so perfect and yet Murphy's Law took over. She decided to clear her oven Thanksgiving morning but when she put the turkey in the clean oven, the juice from the turkey spilled into the bottom of the oven. Then when she put the yams in, they too spilled into the bottom of the oven. So when she turned up the temperature to cook the biscuits and the banana pudding, the oven caught on fire. By the time we got the fire out, the whole house was filled with smoke.

That meant we got to eat outside by the pool. It was a perfectly gorgeous day so we loved eating outside. But Nancy felt so bad. I told her this would just be one of those special moments we wouldn't ever forget.

GIT-n-SPLIT

This was a new one for me. A drive through convenience store. Not just a drive-up window but you drive through the whole store.

SOME KIND OF PLANT

I really liked this plant which was at the entrance to our RV park in Clewiston. But I have no idea what it is called. Can anybody help me?

CLEWISTON MUSEUM

It has been many days since I last posted to the blog so it's time to catch up. We stopped at the Clewiston Museum and saw some amazing treasures and an administrator who loves his work and is very knowledgeable about the items in his museum.

It's a small museum but we really enjoyed our visit.
