AJ, AZ Highs from 58 to 78 Lows down to 34
We are still in isolation due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Hopefully with the rollout of the vaccines by next Autumn we can all breathe a little easier. I've read a lot of books and watched a lot of game shows on TV. Jim has completed several projects and keeps looking for more.

January 6 was a day that will go down in infamy. That is the day that a mob stormed the United States Capitol in a violent attack against the 117th Congress. This mob of thugs wanted to overturn President Trump's defeat and resulted in five deaths and so much destruction of our beautiful Capitol building. At the end of January our country is still divided and there seems to be so much hatred spewing forth from people in both political parties. Praying the Lord can help us come together in unity and an understanding and forgiveness.
Our weather this month has been interesting. We finally got some rain and everyone is overjoyed. The desert plants and wildlife are all doing happy dances. The storm has brought some cold weather into Arizona with snow in the high country (including our glorious Superstitions) and even a short snow shower down here. It also gave us a little bit of hail to keep us on our toes. But what amazing clouds and blue skies.
These next three pictures were all take within an hour and a half. In the first picture, the storm cloud is bearing down on that small patch of blue sky. The storm clouds took over the sky as they passed; then we had beautiful fluffy white clouds and blue sky.
The Superstitions covered with a sprinkling of snow. So absolutely gorgeous.
Our neighbor, Wendy, takes amazing photographs and this is one she took of our retention pond filled with wonderful rain and the Superstitions.
Skittlez had another bout of colitis and we made another run to the emergency vet. She is doing good again but keeps us up at night. Jim takes the 8 pm to 12 am shift and if we're lucky she sleeps until 4:30 when I get up with her. Often she has peed and wants to let us know that she deserves a treat. Other times it seems like she just wants company out in the living room. She won't sleep in the bedroom with us. She will be 17 in just two months and is really quite healthy for an old dog. And yes she is spoiled and we wouldn't change that for anything.
Meet Callie. Isn't she just the cutest little girl. No, she's not ours. She belongs to Paula but I got to go with Paula when she picked her up and held her on the way home. She is just a pistol - non stop motion machine and then just collapses. We do get to puppy sit which doesn't impress Skitz but sure is fun.
She is 10 weeks old in this picture.
Jim got his first covid shot but we haven't been able to schedule his second one yet. He had a sore arm for a couple of days but that was the only reaction. They do say the reaction to the second dose is stronger. My first shot is scheduled for February 8 over at the Cardinals stadium in Glendale.
We arrived for Jim's appointment at 7:00 a.m. and were on our way home by 7:45 a.m. That included the waiting time to see if he was going to have a reaction to the shot. Not bad at all.
Covid has certainly taken a toll on getting paperwork done with the state of Montana. Remember when we bought our new to us pickup back the first part of September? We, just a couple of days ago, finally got the information to pay the registration and license fee. Only took five months. Sure glad we didn't get stopped and had to try to explain that we really weren't criminals.
February has arrived and it is the Love Month. So hopefully all of us can find someone who needs to be told they are loved.
Nice job Sandie. I like your updates. Snow in Arizona Wow.
ReplyDeleteLove the slippers, they look like something Dr. Seuss would have designed! :c)
ReplyDeleteI am so happy Jim got the first shot. Two would be better, but one helps. The puppy is just beyond darling.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update. I like the image of plants and wild life happy dancing. I suspect some humans were doing that as well. :)
ReplyDeleteLove those slippers and was glad to see it only took you guys 45 minutes at the stadium--we are heading to Glendale tomorrow for my vaccine--it was the only place I could find that would vaccinate a 65 and older person. No one in Pima county is giving doses to 65 and older yet. Love that little puppy too and I just bet Skitz is NOT impressed!
ReplyDeleteTook me 7 months!!! to get title to my car!! We are finally able to actually go in to take care of things. Needed registration and a new license!! Prob next time i need to get it renewed i will no longer be here.. or not capable of reasonable thought!
ReplyDeleteGlad Skittlez is doing better even though she needs more supervision.
ReplyDeleteNice warm looking slippers.
Be Safe and Enjoy the flowering of the desert.
It's about time.
Glad you are getting your Covid shots. We are on the waiting list now that the age has dropped to 70 and above here.
ReplyDeleteThe weather has been wonderful. The snow was awesome and of courese gone by afternoon. But I have really enjoyed the cooler temps.
ReplyDeleteWish I could learn to knit I love the slippers. Trying to stay busy and sane has been costing me money. Going to start beading and making some other crafts. NO NO jewellery. I need to take my laptop for and overhaul soon as I can nolonger find my new pictures so I can't post anything.
Glad Skitz is doing a bit better but I bet she finds that puppy annoying LOL
Hei there, in between I get to read more postings like yours. We are still anxious about the Covid. had only 3 cases on the island and they recovered. Lots of Covid across the bridge in Maine though. We are also leery about whether we will see more political violence in the US. We would like to head south again in the fall but need to see that Covid goes down and peace is maintained.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good January. I bet the snow on the mountains was pretty to see. My goal for now is to only see snow in the distance or pictures...lol
ReplyDeleteWe got to meet Paula's little puppy at Bloggerfest she is a cutie. What great slippers and the color I think is perfect. Stay safe.
I like that Ginny feet.
