Billings, MT High 81 Low 50
That’s how far we drove yesterday. I know that will come as a shock to many of you since 175 miles in one day is a long day for us.
However, we needed to get back to our house in Billings. We have had some major water issues in the house for the last month. Todd and Michaela have had to live without water, heat, or a refrigerator for a couple of weeks. And the repairs still aren’t complete.
Thursday Todd called to let us know that the hoses and valves on the washing machine where leaking and we had more water damage. Jim decided that enough was enough and he needed to be here to take charge. We had planned on two days to get here but when he got behind the wheel Friday morning, I knew we were going to Billings.
Another reason we are here is because the kids are buying their own home which means we have to get ours ready to sell. Not sure what all is going to happen this summer or how long we are going to be stuck here. One day at a time.
It is good to see Todd and Michaela and we are all excited about their new home. They are hoping to go to closing this month. This will also give us a chance to catch up with a lot of folks that we haven’t spent much time with during our short visits here in Billings.
Good to be home but not good as to why it happened so fast. I hope Jim can quickly see and fix the sources of the problems. It sounds to me like high water pressure might be part of the equation.
ReplyDeleteOh dear girlfriend. Hope you can get all those repairs done without breaking the bank.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you will have a great time with the kids. Enjoy the summer.
Oh no! That's not good news. I hope you can get everything fixed up, put it on the market and sell it fast. So sorry that so many things are happening that aren't fun !!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the repairs, hope the house sells quickly. One day at a time.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a long driving day that must have been for the both of you. Sorry to hear that you are going home to Billings knowing that you have a number of problems to deal with. Hope things will go smoothly for you and the sale of the house.
ReplyDeleteNothing like coming home to major problems with the house. We usually have some repairs that have to be made to the cabin, so I know what you are going through.
ReplyDeleteHang in there and this will soon be behind you.
Not a very good welcome home. Hope things can fixed easily and cheaply
ReplyDeleteWater damage while you are not on site is not good. Hope you get it all cleared out of the way. Always so much to do with a house.
ReplyDeleteI know Jim loves fixing and repairing stuff but couldn't the project be a smaller one. Here's hoping you get it listed and sold quickly. We were looking at how to get 677 miles in 4 days. Bill said if he won the lottery, he'd hire Jim as his driver.
ReplyDeleteSometimes you just need to get on the road and go. Good luck with the repairs and a speedy closing.
ReplyDeleteAt least you are missing the 113* heat we are having here. Glad you made it home with little issue on the way. Jim will have the house sorted in now time, I'm sure.
ReplyDeletelots of miles for certain but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. Good luck with it all.
ReplyDeleteAs much as Jim enjoys being busy, I'm sure he didn't anticipate this. Take it easy Jim....
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear of the problems with your house. Bad timing, too! It is amazing that even though we get to the point of only driving a couple hundred miles or less a day, we can do whatever needs to be done if the situation warrants.
ReplyDeleteGood grief! I would have to rest for a week!
ReplyDeleteNot the note you want to end a trip on but better to have the man of the house take a look at these problems. Hope it is easily fixed.
ReplyDeleteWow! Not good news but glad you got there okay and Jim to fix up the situation. Hopefully there will be easy fixes, you don't need more issues.
