Happy 30th Anniversary to us.
Yep, we celebrated our 30th Anniversary with Jim getting prepped at Shea Hospital. Well, to be honest, most of the prep was done on Monday because Jim had a colonoscopy and an endoscopy.
But the news from the tests made the whole day worthwhile. He had one very small non-cancerous polyp that they removed and they also found he has a small hiatal hernia. Everything else looks fantastic. In fact, if it weren’t for the fact that Jim’s Mother had colon cancer, he wouldn’t have to have another colonoscopy. But the doctor wants him to have one more in five years just to be sure.
Jim was starved so we made a quick stop at McDonalds on our way home. We decided we would go out for dinner to celebrate. We really wanted to go to the Mining Camp Restaurant but when we got there they had switched to their summer hours and are only open on the week-ends.
Our next choice was a restaurant we had never tried – Cowboy Up. Jim really wanted a steak dinner and they got pretty good reviews on Yelp. He ordered a rib eye and I had the chicken strip dinner. I was too tired to appreciate a steak and since it was $30, I didn’t want to waste it.
Let me put it this way – we have made two trips to Cowboy Up – our first and our last. Food was okay but definitely not worth the price. Our poor server was there by herself and the place got busy so the bartender had to help her out waiting on tables. She remained very pleasant and worked very rapidly.
Today we are meeting up with Jeff and Tina for lunch and tomorrow we are going with George and Melva for Chinese. Party On!!
