New Surgery Date

Apache Junction, AZ  H 77  L 48

As I told Sue this morning on her blog, if I didn’t have all of Jim’s medical issues to blog about, I would have absolutely nothing to say. Since Jim still can’t walk anywhere, we spend a lot of time at home reading and doing nothing.

Jim’s next surgery date is Wednesday, November 21. The day before Thanksgiving. And they have promised me that he will be home for Thanksgiving. I’m going to be sure and hold them to that.

I’m beginning to feel like this has become my second home.

  1. Hopefully you are on the home stretch with the medical stuff and Jim will be all fixed up soon.

  2. If that's your new home, make sure the food is good, the bed is comfortable and room service top notch! Hopefully, Jim will be out of there like a flash. He's bound to be getting tired of not being to fish. He's lucky to have you to take care of him.

  3. Hoping along with others that Jim is in and out and enjoys Thanksgiving Dinner at home. The waiting is probably the worst part of any surgery, I think, and having it delayed must really get under your skin. I'll be thinking of you both on the 21st, and waiting to hear that all this is behind you and you're able to resume your lives as you wish--after turkey, of course! Tell Jim to start baiting his hooks. :)

  5. It's good to have a date, and Jim can be home in time to enjoy the turkey dinner. A little recuperating until Christmas, and you guys will be good to go for the January drive to Quartzsite. :)

  11. I can certainly empathize with rescheduling surgery dates from my experiences this summer. What I kept telling myself is that there had to be a reason and that things would happen when and as they should. The waiting is the hardest part. Here's positive vibes that the surgery WILL happen on its new date, everything will go smoothly and you'll both be at home for Turkey Day! xxxx

  13. When I'm stuck in the medical waiting game I like to think about the poor person who got bumped to the head of the line. It MIGHT help to try to be glad Jim's condition isn't urgent. Not much, probably, but some.

In the meantime, know we are all hanging in there with you as best we can.

  16. I've just read a few of your prior blogs - I'll never be able to catch up with everyone - but I didn't realize that Jim was going through all this. I hope they can get him on track and you can start doing some fun things again.

  17. Sure hope all goes well and that you won't have to see the inside of the hospital again for a very long while. I am sure that both you and Jim are sick of it!
