El Nino is definitely being felt all over the country and here in Arizona it’s much colder than it has been for the last couple of years. I’m just grateful that the sun is shining during the day.
Jim brought out our Blue Flame heater and the girls are overjoyed. (That would also include me.)
We had lunch with Jan and Bill last week. First time we’ve been out to eat since Jim’s first surgery. I suggested Sal’s Gilbert Pizza because I really wanted an Italian sausage sandwich. Definitely a good choice. We had so much fun visiting and catching up. Felt so good to be out of the house and not headed for the doctor’s office.
On Monday Jim got his drain taken out. What a relief. He is feeling so much better now. He’s able to walk again and is building his strength back up. He even went to Walmart with me for the first time in almost six weeks and was able to walk the entire way. He gets the stitches out next Tuesday and then we should be done.
He is back to driving again but I am also going to continue to drive. I’ve gotten comfortable with it and I want to keep that feelling just in case.
Now for the big test. Let’s see if this will post with pictures in it.
Looks like it posted fine. Glad the recovery is going well. That does seem a little cool for AZ but at least it's warmer than MT. It was 27 here this AM but back up to unseasonably warm by Mon.
ReplyDeleteYep we are hearing from a number of people about how chilly it is in Arizona so far this year. Funny enough most of Canada is having a very warm fall, there is even the possibility of a green Christmas in some parts that don't normally have one. We on the other hand are having perfect weather at least for us, cool at night and between 72F and 75F during the day.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that Jim is doing so well, I really hope it keeps up that way. :-)

Wonderful news on Jim's recovery. Won't be long before we see him on Dancing With the Stars! ;c)
ReplyDeleteSorry that it's so cold in AZ, it was 38* here in SC this morning, so I hopped on my motorcycle and went for a ride. Crazy? Who, me? :cD
Glad to hear that Jim is feeling better. It's good for us to keep driving. Before the Achilles, Jim would drive and after Jim couldn't drive it took me a couple of days to remember exactly where the front bumpers are. It's difficult to see over the hood of the truck. That blue flame heater looks very nice. The weather heads are not encouraging about our near future weather. Bummer!
ReplyDeleteGlad that Jim is feeling better. 20f overnight here in Quartzsite but 76 ou here at noon so won't complain.
ReplyDeleteWe have a Mr. Heater buddy and been going strong for 9 years now, love it. No as much heat as the Blue flame but does the job for us.
We thought it would be warmer in Arizona, that's why we came to Yuma. But it s a very nice day today.
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome news about Jim...Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteSeems like it is FLORIDA getting all the warmth this year.
ReplyDeleteYay for welcome heaters in the cold. Yay for Jim's improving health. Yay for you becoming comfortable driving. Yay for this posting correctly. Yay for there being so many things to cheer for.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Jim is on the mend.
ReplyDeleteGet well Jim.... And it obviously posted with the heater picture in it..
ReplyDeleteBeing comfortable is a good thing. Keep driving and keep Jim feeling good. However, the cold weather needs to be mixed with the hot weather we felt in Florida. That would be a good happy medium.
ReplyDeleteYep, it posted! It has been chilly here in Arizona but we didn't know if this was normal for December or not as we've not ever been here in December. BUT--tomorrow we are heading for much, much colder and whiter country!
ReplyDeleteGood news for Jim and wishing him continued healing.
ReplyDeleteThe girls remind me of Fred the heater hog. Yes the weather had been a bit on the cold side a little to cold if you ask me. But it does make it feel more like Christmas
Nothing better than getting back to walking and driving to show how good the recovery is going!
ReplyDeleteSo happy that everything is back to normal with Jim. We go from the 70s to the 30s over night! Hope you have wonderful holidays and good health and happiness in the new year. Yhe girls are smart I. Your family! :)
ReplyDeleteHope his is strong enough to visit the Monastery this winter.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your cold weather. Needless to say we are having great temps here in Mexico. Happy to hear that Jim is on the mend.
ReplyDeleteI am finally getting caught up with some of my blog reading. I hope both you and Jim and doing well. I also have my blue flame heater out, but it has been running almost all the time. Chica loves it.
ReplyDeleteI envy you being in the warmer climate of AZ, but also enjoying OR as well, beside the fact that it rains constantly. HA!
Great to hear Jim is feeling better!!
ReplyDeleteThe girls are cute taking advantage of the extra warmth. Our three cats all pick a floor vent and claim them, the dog takes the fireplace.
Not sure how I missed this but I did.
ReplyDeletehad a drain, hate that!! Bet he is so glad to be rid of that!!
ReplyDeleteGood news about Jim. Sal's, we are jealous
ReplyDeleteIt's great to hear that you were able to get out and enjoy a nice meal with your friends. It is a shame that it had to be so bitterly cold out, but getting out for a delicious meal always warms people up. I am glad to hear that things are going well with Jim. Enjoy driving!
