As all of you know, when folks get together food always seems to be a common denominator.
We had a fabulous Thanksgiving at Jan and Bill’s. There is just nothing like a turkey dinner with all the trimmings.

Our good friend Paul arrived in town Thanksgiving afternoon. He is going to be just up the street from us for the winter so we’ll get a chance to see him quite often.
After we said hi to him, we drove by our local Walmart. The parking lot was a total zoo. People were even parking across the street in the McDonalds lot. I really don’t need or want anything that bad. We drove on past and went back to the sanity of our home.
Friday morning I was watching the news and they were broadcasting from a Target store that was almost empty. Jim and I looked at each other and wondered if the Walmart would also be empty. And it was. I have never seen it that empty. We got a parking spot about four spots from the door. I wanted to find the sheets they had on sale for $25 but we didn’t have any luck in the bedding aisle or in the front of the store. Jim said he needed some kind of wire and we headed back towards automotive. Guess what we found – the sheets. Yippee.
No lines anywhere so after getting a few groceries, we were in and out.
We bought this really great ham at Frys but it was way too big for us. I called Paul and Rod and asked them if they wanted to join us for Sunday dinner. More great times with special friends. The weather was beautiful so we were able to enjoy our meal outside.
Today we met up with Dianna, Bobbie and Paul for lunch in Chandler. No pictures cause Dianna threatened my life if I pulled out a camera.
We also stopped in and visited with Aunt Happy who is doing really good. She was on her way to play bingo and was excited because she was on a winning streak.
We are keeping busy and having a great time. More friends and food are in our future.
Paul up the street, that's great. I think we will see you at Jan and Bill's next week.
ReplyDeleteThere really is a lot wrong with meeting up with people and sharing a meal. I'm an expert on that. I lose weight. I gain weight. I lose weight. I gain most of it back. I think it's time to diet again but .... hey, see you Friday for another meal. The diet is going to have to continue to wait.
ReplyDeleteYour first picture looks just like a Norman Rockwell painting.
ReplyDeleteFood and friends cannot be beat!
ReplyDeleteFriends and food is pretty addictive, enjoy!
ReplyDeleteFriends, food laughs and oh my this beautiful weather! Life is good! So glad to read about Aunt Happy doing well.
ReplyDeleteYou two are the social butterflies. I am sure your friends appreciated the ham dinner.
ReplyDeletelove the dining room ...
ReplyDeleteSheets in the automotive section ?? Now that's a new one. LOL
ReplyDeleteFriends and good food are the best! We had the same surprise when we stopped at Walmart on Friday, was the emptiest we have seen it since we arrived here! Nice!
ReplyDeleteGlad you guys are having fun and enjoying your time here!
ReplyDeleteAnd that is how to do the Holiday season!
ReplyDeleteI like the thought of ham much better than turkey. I must have "turkey'd out" when I was younger!
ReplyDeleteI know I sound like an old coot, but I wouldn't shop on thanksgiving if you paid me. Those people should be home with their families.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful meal. How are the doggies? How long will you be in AZ? We won't be there until April.
ReplyDeleteWho's that fat guy in front of the truck?? Well anyway thanks again for a wonderful dinner and afternoon in the Arizona outdoors...
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a really nice time!
ReplyDeleteNothing better than friends and food.
ReplyDeleteFunny how you have so many social meals with RVers that you never would have had back in the days when you lived in a house. We barely even knew the neighbors. :cO
ReplyDeleteFood, friends, fun! What could be better? We were at Costco first thing this morning & there were no crowds--we were shocked! Either everyone was getting a late start...oh wait. This is Friday! Don't make me go there tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteNext time you are in Walmart, try out the Basil and Lime hand soap. Just haven't been able to get to blogs. Glad you and Jim had a great Thanksgiving with friends. Love to the S&S. :)
