I sure wish I could figure out some way to use some of those gigs that have been offered. I just need to keep Jim off his computer and stop all the downloading he does. He needs to realize that my stuff is more important than his. Hope he doesn’t read this. lol
The excitement has started. First off was my eye exam. I really hate having my eyes dilated. When they finally get back to normal they are so tired. I know it’s necessary but I don’t have to like it. My eye sight is about the same as it has been for the last couple of years which is great news. I do have a couple of small cataracts and all we’re going to do is monitor them for now. No macular degeneration. A huge floater in my left eye. And that’s all the news from the Optometrist.
While I was at the doctor’s office, Jim got our truck licensed and bought new hoses for Todd’s washing machine. We got home and Jim started cleaning out stuff he had stored under the house. Didn’t realize he had so much under there. That project could take a few days. The washing machine hoses got changed tonight after dinner.
Took the girls to the vet for their annual check up and kennel cough vaccination. Skittlez is in great shape. She has always been so very healthy. Going to the vet really wears her out emotionally. Needs to sleep in my arms to recover.
I’ve been trying to get a picture of Skitz running but not having much luck. She just flies especially if she thinks she gets to get in the house and have a treat.
Scooter is in pretty good shape for her age, but the doctor found a heart murmur. He gave us some medication for her and she will need to be on it for the rest of her life. It is supposed to help put off congestive heart failure and he thinks she will be able to live many years with no problem. The really good news is that Scooter is now under 15 lbs. She got up to almost 18 lbs. at one time and dachshunds cannot be overweight with their tendency for back problems. Wish I could control my food intake as easily as I do hers.
My eyes are really tired so goodnight folks. I’m not going to get this posted until tomorrow.
Skittlez looks mighty comfy ... I need to have my eyes examined too.. I just hate it.. the dilation and field tests and all that mess. bah
ReplyDeleteHate to hear about Scooter's heart murmur... on medication the rest of her life? jeeez
You don't have separate computers? oh, lord? we'd been separated long before now if we hadn't each had our own but then I forget you and Jim like each other... that helps. ha
Good news about your eyes. Gerry and I both have had cataract surgery on our eyes and it wasn't that bad. Putting the medicine in for 3 weeks afterward was the hard part.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like Scooter can live a normal life with the medication, so that is good.
Have fun out there.
I have floaters in both eyes. Amazing how quickly you can get used to them.
ReplyDeleteYour eyes sound like mine....but YOU are younger, my friend! I am eager to see what Dr Joe has to say about my eyes when we get back to IN. When did you say you head back to AZ? We are In Bend, OR and start east Sunday or monday.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard not to feed our little wire-haired doxie...he would eat all the time. Great shot of Skittlez running! And sleeping!
ReplyDeleteGood news about your eyes!
Yes, our two were down a bit in their weight when they had their visits to the vet last week. Ariel stresses out too - I hate bringing her.
ReplyDeleteGlad that your eye appointment went well. We just finished all of those appointments ourselves. It's a great feeling to have them over. :) But amazing how fast the year will go until it will be time to start them all over again.
I wish I understood heart murmurs. I was always told I had one since I was very young but that it was no problem. The last time I had an EKG the doctor who read it said there was no sign of it and looked at me like he thought I was making it uo all along. I can sometimes feel it at night if I'm lying on my right side. I hope your eyes continue to have no changes. I think I'm starting into macular degeneration and it isn't pleasant.
ReplyDeleteThat is good news that your eyes are healthy. I agree, the dilation is not fun, with all the advances in medicine, you'd think by now they'd have found a way around it.
ReplyDeleteYour girls are real cuties, they are so cuddly! :c)
Replaced my lenses last year...wow, forgot what color was. New lenses are corrective so I only need glasses for driving and TV.
ReplyDeleteJust checking in to see how you are Jim are fairing. Glad things are mostly O>K> for you two. Heart murmurs in dogs are really not to terribly serious anymore...and it is so great that the can be taken care of with medication.
ReplyDeleteStay well my friend.
Jo
What we all need is to have some responsible person serve up our
ReplyDelete"people chow" and not give us treats! :`))
That is great news about your eyes.
ReplyDeleteThose kids sure do keep you hopping. I can't image your vet bill. Bella alone cost us $175. But she is worth it!
Glad your eye exam went well. Your dogs look like they love to be cuddled. We had two pugs for years and loved them so much. We are now dog free and enjoying that freedom. I hate losing man's best friend and not sure I can go through that again.
ReplyDeleteSounds like all are ready for a winter in AZ.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the good eye exam! We have a little Shih Tzu that has a heart issue. We keep him on the meds, he takes lasiks and temaril P and he is doing great!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that everyone seems to be healthy and happy. Those two dogs are lucky to have such great lives with you. Just a little spoiled, maybe :)!

That's a darling picture you got of Skitz running. As many times as we try, our dogs just don't pose for us as often as we like.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that your eyes are fine and that the pooches got thumbs up except for a little medication. We sure love our pets and worry about them as much or more that we do our spouses! The pictures are so cute.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the dilation. I swear when I was young, my eyes recovered much faster. Now they just feel weird the rest of the day. Nice to get a good report though.
ReplyDeleteWent for our eye exams last month and the docter used a new device called a 3D lens, said it takes the place of dilating and she can see twice as much with it. And this was at Sam's Club.
ReplyDeleteMust be the season for eye exams, I now need glasses to correct astigmatism for distance. Have floaters and flashers but no cataracts, macular degeneration, glaucoma.
