Gallup, NM High 81 Low 42
Believe it or not, we actually pulled out of our park at 5:33 a.m. this morning. I wanted to make the climb up to the Mogollon Rim in the cooler morning air and before the long week-end traffic got bad. There was a big sign board on the road out to Saguaro Lake (the way we left town) that said there would be delays and closures of that road during the long week-end. That means that there are so many people at the lake, they aren’t going to let any more through until some leave. Holy cow. That is way too many people for me.
We had thought we might stop in Holbrook but it was still rather early so we pushed on. We are in the USA RV Park in Gallup, NM for the night. 261 miles.
And the afternoon wind has arrived. We are rockin and a rollin in 35 to 40 mph gusts. Sure glad we are off the road. Only have about 130 miles into Albuquerque in the morning.
Jim and the girls are taking naps. Recovering from the many hours in the truck.
It feels so good to be on the move. We’re really looking forward to seeing Steve and Jenn (Jim’s oldest son and his wife) in Albuquerque for a few days. We’re also looking forward to meeting up with some RVing friends on Monday.
I, of course, have a whole list of things I would like to see and do.
Wave when you go through Grants, I'm at Exit 85 in Lavaland RV Park
ReplyDeleteSafe travels to you! Have fun in Albuquerque.
ReplyDeleteYou may have left the boat behind, but tell me you didn't forget Jim's fishing poles... :cD

ReplyDeleteWe thought we left campgrounds early, but 5:33 a.m. takes the record.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I know you were ready to "rock and roll" down the highway. Enjoy the ride.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing you're there before the winds come in. I hate the winds whether we're sitting still or on the road.
ReplyDeleteTHERE! You did it, got out of dodge. Have safe travels! Hugs from us!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you out on the road. That was a long day, time to rest up. :)
ReplyDeleteFINALLY, we both spent too much time in one location, even if good reasons. We are enjoying being on the road again and you will too.
