Apache Junction, AZ RAIN and COLD, High 66 Low 48
Friday morning we headed out to my sister’s place. She needed Jim to set her clock because she couldn’t figure it out. When we got there she also asked Jim to help her get her wedding ring off. Her hands had swollen and the ring was cutting into her finger. Jim tried lotion and ice water but didn’t have any luck.
So off to Jareds we went. They were exceptionally nice and were able to cut the ring off for her. They told her to wait a couple of weeks to let the finger settle down and then to bring the ring back and they would fix it for her.
We had some lunch and took her to Walgreens to get her prescriptions filled. After we dropped her off at home, we headed over to Aunt Happy’s. She wasn’t in her apartment but we were able to track her down upstairs at their happy hour. There was a three piece combo playing some old time music.
Happy told us that the music wasn’t all that good but it was sure better than sitting all alone in her apartment. She said it’s not good to get in the rut of just staying in her room. What a lady. However, she was pretty impressed with the trumpet player. We listened to the music and then visited with her for awhile before we finally headed home to feed the girls and let them out.
They love to lay on the warm, clean laundry.
Oh, and did I tell you? It rained all day and all night. Record rain.
Rain has stopped. Now when? do we try to get the rig out, today? tomorrow? the next day?
ReplyDeleteHow can you not love those faces on the "girls"!? I chuckle every time I visit your blog. It isn't much better here in TX. Calling for some really bad weather starting this afternoon. And to think we have friends sitting down there in FL in 80 degrees! It isn't fair!
ReplyDeleteWell keep warm and dry, that weather is coming this way, then maybe even get to Florida.
ReplyDeleteI would have enjoyed listening to the tuba player. :)
ReplyDeleteWe have been trying to find out how much rain we had, but the news hasn't reported the amount. We know there was a whole lot on the roof of our rig!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lifeboat installed on your fiver! Yikes! Did Noah sail by? ;c)
ReplyDeleteGlad that they were helpful at Jared's. Sometimes rings that get stuck can cause so much tension. Phew.
ReplyDeleteYour Aunt Happy just cracks me up. Oh how I pray I have her positive attitude when I am her age...that is if I live that long.
ReplyDeleteRaining here too! YUCK!
luv me some Aunt Happy... just love hearing about her no matter what it's about... and WHAT a trio ... oh, lord???? a tuba player in that small space? Haaaa... what fun... two horns and guitar.
ReplyDeleteman
I also love hearing Aunt Happy stories. Rained here as well Sandie. But now that gorgeous Arizona sunshine is back again.
ReplyDeleteNasty weather has been everywhere. Good ole' Aunt Happy. She's quite a lady. Hopefully, we'll have the same sense of humor and abilities when we're her age ... if we make it, that is.
ReplyDeleteGeez, what's up with the weather everywhere???
ReplyDeleteWe have some rings repaired at Jareds, but I would never have thought to go there to have a ring removed. Thanks for the tip:)
ReplyDeleteYou know we get spoiled with sunny every day. I can't believe how I resented the rain.
ReplyDeleteHope good to spend time with her and make her happy. Ring piercing inside the finger is terrible. Take care..
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty scary when you can't get your rings! Aunt Happy is such an inspiration! What a character she is...
ReplyDeleteWell...meant to say can't get your rings off! Kudos to whoever had the bright idea to go to Jared's.
DeleteSo there really is a store called Jareds :-). I wondered if you were getting rain or snow.
ReplyDeleteAh! Snuggled into warm laundry--a perfect place to be on a rainy day.
ReplyDeleteLove that second picture.
ReplyDeleteBlessed are the music makers .... they spread joy.
The girls are so cute
