My internet issues here in AJ are really strange. Ginny, who lives right across the street, has no problems using her Verizon jet pack. Toni and Doug had no problems when they were in our park.
And yet we could only get limited service with our Verizon jet pack. Verizon had no suggestions as to what could be wrong. This happened to us last year and we ended up getting MediaCom cable internet. We don’t have a contract with them so we cancel when we leave and then reinstate it when we get back. They showed up today and made my computer world wonderful again.
The only thing we can think of is the position of where the rig is parked. Even though we can’t see anything that is blocking the signal, something is wrong. We have been told by Verizon that AJ is on the far edge of the closest cell tower and there isn’t anything that can be done at this time.
But all is well and I’m back.
Jim got home last Thursday. He had a fantastic time with his son even if they didn’t see much wildlife. The girls and I were just overjoyed to have him home with us.
Saturday we opened up my sister’s park model and got it ready for her. We also stopped to visit Aunt Happy. She had received a beautiful bouquet from Banner Baywood Hospital.
On Sunday we met up with Dianne and Tom at Garcia’s for dinner. Our friend Carol took this fantastic picture of them.
We had a wonderful visit. I know Jim could have talked fishing with Tom for many more hours but the restaurant was ready for us to leave.
We’ll meet up with them again in Quartzsite.
Monday we picked up my sister from the airport and got her settled in her place in Mesa. Played cribbage Monday night.
Tuesday we got my passport picture taken, got the truck washed, went to Costco and ran some other errands. After all the running around, Jim installed our new backup camera on the truck. I forgot to take any pictures of him crawling around underneath the truck.
Today we waited for MediaCom to show up and then tonight we went up to the clubhouse to see the movie 42 about Jackie Robinson. I wasn’t sure I was going to like the movie, but both Jim and I really enjoyed it.
Sure does feel good to know that my internet is working again.
Glad to see you back, and welcome back to Jim too. You sure keep yourselves busy!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back...sounds like you are sure having fun. I always enjoy seeing Aunt Happy!
ReplyDeleteWere is the venison? No excuses Jim.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm glad your internet is working again too!
ReplyDeleteSome times our Verizon jet pack has issues, and we find that if we move it to a different location in the coach or different window it works just fine.
ReplyDeleteI'm lost without the internet for a day...welcome back.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to have family close by.
ReplyDeleteWe went crazy the three days we didn't have Internet. Our jet pack here has to be in a particular place to get high connection speed. Did you walk the jet pack all around the RV and see if you get more bars in any different area? Just a suggestion. Glad you have a back up plan.
welcome back to the land of the internet!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely frustrating when you can't get a signal.
ReplyDeleteSounds like all is well in Apache Junction.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, we MISSED you! :c)
ReplyDeleteNice that you have a Plan B for your Internet service. It sure is a mystery why sometimes things work and sometimes they don't.
Woo hoo! you are back! Nice to hear of all your adventures. Aunt Happy looks so good. John's Dr. appt. was good yesterday. Only one new med added to his long list..
ReplyDeleteWhat no deer sausage? Well that's probably OK since you wouldn't have any cheese to go along with it anyway..... LOL..
ReplyDeleteBusy, busy, busy. Dave warned me if I visit your park I might not get good Verizon there. Glad to hear you got yours solved--sort of.
ReplyDeleteNice to see your blog pop-up on my sidebar again.
ReplyDeleteWe saw 42 as well and really enjoyed it.
Yippee! I can't imagine how you lived so long without internet. I'd be climbing up the walls!
ReplyDeleteyes, glad to see your blog pop up again... I'm behind in blogs due to Charlie handling ... glad Jim is back and all is as it should be ;)
ReplyDeleteSure glad you are back up and running! I checked each day to see if it was working! Nice picture of you guys at the restaurant. You and Jim look good.
ReplyDeleteSure did miss your Blog Posts.
ReplyDelete"Jim installed our new backup camera on the truck."
Jeeze, Is there anything that man can't do !!
Glad you got your internet fixed... I get so frustrated when we go somewhere where we don't have internet service... Guess I'm addicted to it!!! ha
ReplyDeleteGlad your sister got there and got settled. Glad also that your visited Aunt Happy. AND --I'm sure you had fun with Dianne and Tom.
Hugs,
Betsy
Good internet is always great:)
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to come up with a way for RV'ers to get decent internet access.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got your internet settled. I hate it when we land somewhere we can't get a good signal, at least you had the Mediacom option.
ReplyDeleteMiss going to Garcia's, can't wait to get back to the land of Garcia's.
