NOT DOING MUCH

Jim is recovering very nicely from surgery. He took Scooter for a walk this morning to celebrate three weeks after surgery. Before surgery he would come back limping and in pain. Today he walked as far as he normally does with her and back without being in pain. That is the best news ever.

He isn’t moving very fast which works well with Scoots cause she wants to sniff every rock and every blade of grass that exists. Skittlez hates to go for walks. She hates being outside and when we take her for a walk, she is constantly turning around and pulling for all she’s worth to go back home. Not a lot of fun.

We haven’t really done anything. Went to Walmart for a few things and that’s about all the shopping we’ve done.

We did go out to dinner last night with Paul at Los Gringos Locos and had a great time. Paul will only be here for about another week before heading out but we hope to see him a couple more times before he leaves.

And that’s about it from our world.

  4. Glad to hear that Jim is recovering quickly and even better news that the surgery appears to be very successful. I know all about the "pulling in the opposite direction". Unless you have had a dachsie, you just don't realize how very strong they can be when they make up their minds. All three of ours love to go for walks but it can be a real handful when they decide to go in different directions.

  8. Always good to hear of older folks on the mend & it sounds like Jim is doing well. Probably that exercise is the best thing for him, both mentally & physically.

  10. So HAPPY to hear about Jim, Sandie!! I bet he feels like he's been reborn.

Poor Jack, I just can't get him out for more than a few minutes before having to come back. He gets so excited when he sees the leash and it's time to go. It's as though he can tell time, he starts to pace and wag his tail. I generally walked him two miles a day no matter what the weather and more when we travelled. He looks at me as if to question why we're going back in the house after just a few minutes. Fortunately, my daughter loves him, too, and when she gets off early enough she takes him for a nice long walk. He's a happy fella, then.

Funny how different Scooter and Skittlez are--just proves they all have different personalities. Lizzie and Jack were as different as night and day, but both very gentle pups.

Again, glad to hear about Jim.

  13. I just betcha the little girls are so happy to see him. They are probably even happier that he's hanging around and not out fishing. However, he's probably counting the days until he can get that boat out.

  14. Oh Sandie that is such good news that the surgery was so successful and Jim is recovering so quickly.

I 'might' be by your way sometime next week.

  15. So glad to hear Jim is able to go for a walk without pain. That is such wonderful news. Our Poppy is not a big outdoors dog either. Given her druthers, she would pick a ride rather than a walk. Love her to pieces anyway, even if she is a diva-dog!!
