Helena, MT High 85 Low 55
Where is Avon? you ask. Avon is a town of about 130 people 30 miles from Helena up over McDonald Pass. Why in the world would you drive over there for breakfast? you ask.
This is why. Meet Beverly, her sister, Pat, and Larry. I’ve only been following Larry's blog for a couple of months but when I found out they were going to be in Garrison, MT I immediately jumped at the chance to meet up with them.
Jim, Beverly, Pat, Sandie and Larry
They are from Tennessee and are RV sometimers. Also traveling with them is their 15 year old granddaughter, Madison, who understandably did not want to join all of us old folks. They are headed for Glacier and then back down to Yellowstone and then are going to work their way back home again.
You know how, when you meet some people, you just feel right at home with them. Well that’s how we felt about these folks. We yakked for a couple of hours and finally had to get them on their way. They are thinking about maybe doing a Southwest swing this winter and we are definitely looking forward to meeting up with them again.
There's just something about the spirit of travelers!
ReplyDeleteHow nice that you took the time to look them up... I agree that meeting up with blogging and RV folks sure can be a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteThey have excellent milkshakes at that restaurant, too! Did you check out the really cool quilt shop across the highway??
ReplyDelete15 year olds definitely aren't pleased at the idea of hanging around with old folks ... you know the ones. They are least 40 and up. Oh well ... at least she got fed and it didn't slow their trip down too long.
ReplyDeleteWe love meeting up with new and old blog friends. We just had lunch with a couple we met our first year on the road. It was like we never parted. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteNice breakfast! And fun times! Great combination!
ReplyDeleteThe time does fly by...
It's amazing how fast people you meet on the road become friends. And how fast ya'll go out to eat. Must be in the RVers blood! :cD
ReplyDeleteNice to hear of, and meet, new RV bloggers - thanks for the link!
ReplyDeleteIt was indeed a treat to meet you guys and at the perfect spot - little country restaurant where the locals know to go. As I said, you were both very like I'd imagined you would be from your writing. I certainly plan to see you again somewhere along the road. This is coming to you from near the banks of the Flathead River (one site between us) as we get ready for a shopping, resting, repairing day.
ReplyDeleteAlways good to meet up with fellow bloggers. Glad you had a good visit!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! How is Jim's foot doing these days?
ReplyDeleteYep, we felt the same way when we met Larry and his family. How nice that you were able to meet them. It's fun to get to know the person behind the blog.
ReplyDeleteSam
I don't think Larry has ever met a stranger in his life:)
ReplyDeleteGlad y'all had the chance to meet up. I just went to Montana (Helmville area) for the first time this year, it is God's country, isn't it?
We are at this moment waiting for some SKP's that we haven't met to show up here. They post on the forum as The Krusers. I will convince them to join our Class-less Class.
ReplyDeleteHI Sandie, I came here from Jim's blog (Big Dude)... Hubby and I also live in Tennessee up on the Cumberland Plateau. We met Jim and Bev and Pat when they RV'd here... Had a wonderful time with them also... NICE people!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou must live in a glorious section of the country. We have been to Yellowstone --but not much yet in Montana. However, we hope to get to Glacier in 2014.....
Thanks for allowing me to jump into your blog today.
Hugs,
Betsy
Sandie, You were the first Blogger I met - remember that !! It's great putting a real face to the person behind the Blog.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to get together with fellow rver's so many stories to tell is always fun.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it nice to run into people you have an instant rapport with?
ReplyDeletePearl
It is so great to meet up with people you know from blogging, and get to put a face with the name.
ReplyDeleteIt is always nice meeting those whose blogs you read. I have done this several times and it is a blast.
