More Doctor Visits

Apache Junction, AZ  High 93  Low 64

It’s hard to come up with a title when all you’ve done is go to doctor’s offices.

We had the dermatologist on Monday. Wednesday we had to be in Phoenix at 7:45 a.m. (think rush hour traffic) which meant we were up at 5:30. Boy was that hard to do. Jim had an Echocardiogram. His heart doctor called today to tell him that his heart looks pretty good considering two by-pass surgeries and a heart attack. In fact his numbers (whatever those are) were better than last year and that is a good thing.

Thursday we saw his internist. He has had a pain in his back on the left scapula and down his arm for about three weeks. Decided enough was enough. Got some pain meds for him. Now he has a bone scan scheduled for next week and he also needs to get a stress test scheduled.

Then, to top it off, we had to take Scooter to the Vet Thursday afternoon. She must have twisted wrong and she is in a great deal of pain. Dachshunds have a lot of problems with their backs and necks because of their long spinal column. So now she’s all doped up on exactly the same pain medication that the doctor gave Jim today. But since we have insurance for Jim, his pills were a whole lot cheaper.

I’m just so grateful that I’m healthy.

  1. Glad to hear Jim's numbers were good, but you need to tour something other than doctors offices.

  3. Oh poor Scooter, poor Jim and poor you having to deal with it all. I hope Jim's tests all come out ok and that Scooter gets better. I am always so terrified that Effie and Cooper are going to jump wrong or twist and we will be in the same boat. Cooper hurt his back last year and we are constantly watching him. Good luck!

  6. I hope Jim is all better soon and that the tests come back with good news. He hasnt been fishing enough...that should help! Well, maybe his spirit anyway.

We have a doxie too and can not for the life of us keep him from jumping. He loves to play ball!

    Take care of yourself!

Hope pups is feeling better soon, been taking Luci for walks (or drags) and she is crapped out again tonight. they just knock her out. When we head for home, how does she know that? she perks right up and is in front of me and no longer needs to be reminded to keep on walking :)

  13. I feel bad for you (especially having to drive into Phoenix) and can relate to the PITA of medical appointments. It seems like so many of us have reached that point in life where one thing after another goes wrong. At least you guys stay pretty active.
