Love that song.
We had a humdinger go through this afternoon. We had thunder, lightning, wind (50 mph), rain and hail. Thank goodness the hail wasn’t very big and I don’t think it did any damage.
But it was rather exciting for awhile. Got Scooter’s Thundershirt on her and it really does help keep her calmer. She still thinks she should be attacking the thunder and protecting her home.
What amazes me is how rapidly the water disappears into the ground or into the air down here in the desert. People are really happy about getting this rain. Arizona is in desperate need of water.
Jim is doing better. Yesterday was a rough day – in quite a bit of pain. But today is better. Still hurts but we went for a walk and he took the girls out a couple of times. Definitely improving.
And that is how our day went.
glad to hear that Jim is feeling better every day!.hope the sun comes out for you tomorrow!..we had sun here but it was windy!..perfect day for sheets on a clothesline..if I had one!
ReplyDeleteKeep moving Jim! Glad to hear you are doing so well.

What is Scooter's "thundershirt?"
ReplyDeleteI kept hearing about the storm in the news. We didn't get it here, about 20 minutes south of Sedona, but it did cloud up and get cooler. I'm glad the hail wasn't bad enough to do any damage.
I'm sorry Jim had a rough day yesterday and hope it's his last one. I feel for him and am sending prayers and good wishes. :)
My daughter and son-in-law's dog has a "Thundershirt" too, and I had up until then never heard of such a thing. Of course you can go out to the pet supply store and buy a made for doggie style Thundershirt, but I think his is some old kid's T-shirt.
ReplyDeleteKeeps him from coming right out of his skin.
They've been using it for over a year now.
He's a cross between a Boston Terrier and either a Pittbull, or something else. I don't remember. So he's not really huge or anything, but certainly bigger than a Dachshund.
Sorry Jim had a bad day. I guess some pain is to be expected. Glad no damage from your storm. 50mph wind is strong.
ReplyDeleteEvery day will get better and easier. We'll all be glad when that pain is behind him. Arizona can get those storms. Duchess doesn't like thunder either. She's a wimp. She hides.
ReplyDeleteGood days and bad days--glad Jim had a good one yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThe doctors always say that there will be a set-back day here and there. Maybe that was his hump day and now he will be much much better.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't seen that kind of storm for quiet a while, and I hope it is even a longer time before we see one again.
Sorry Jim wasn't feeling the best yesterday, sure hope it is all uphill from here. Nice to see that he was able to get out with the "girls".
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you didn't get any damage from the storm.

I am sure there will be up and down days for Jim but I am so impressed with his recovery. He has been through so much the last few months, I think we all want to see a speedy recovery for him.
ReplyDeletePersonally I have never heard about "thundershirts" for dogs. Would that be available for us humas as well? I have rarely felt fear for thunderstorms. To me it is too interesting to watch that kind of weather. Well, except on that evening years ago when Mr. Lightning found his way into our fuse box and created a nice light standing out from there. Happened back in Alberta, where thunderstorms can get quite violent.
ReplyDeleteHope Jim is loosing his pain soon.
Jim keep moving and get well soon.
ReplyDeleteI think Annie our Lab needs a thundershirt..
I've never heard of thundershirts either but then we seldom ever get thunder and lightning here on Vancouver Island.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Jim is able to get out for a few walks.
Thundershirts are for any sort of anxiety, not just thunder. Supposed to be very effective. Hope Jim has a much better day today. It sounds like he is making great progress.

Ups and downs come along with recovery. I hope Jim is able to make slow and steady progress every day. Sometimes we get so eager to recover that we overdo things and then have to take a few steps backwards. He'll get there eventually! Thanks for the update!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for Jim's days to improve.. You had me worried there for a minute when you were talking about the hail, since our rig is parked just around the corner from yours.......
ReplyDeleteWhen I had my knee replacements done I was told it was important to stay ahead of the pain with my meds. If I let it get too bad it would escalate. Do you need to remind Jim it is OK to take the meds? Taking them can actually help him heal. And we all want him to heal.
ReplyDeleteIt's up from here Jim.
ReplyDeleteApparently dryer sheets work like "thunder shirts", we are going to try it next time, if we have one.
Jim is mighty strong! His recovery comes in God's time. Please encourage him not to overdo and push his recovery. If he does push, he will pay the penalty as John is doing today and yesterday.
ReplyDeleteWow! I can't believe he's out walking 5 days after surgery! You've got a real trouper there. All my best!
ReplyDeleteGood news about Jim. We too have been amazed as to how quickly the water disappears in Arizona.
ReplyDeleteI also am amazed that Jim is already out walking the girls so soon after the surgery. That's great news !!
