ROAD TO THE RALLY

I forgot to post these pictures showing the snow on the top of the Superstitions after our storm last week-end. And it is much too pretty not to post.

We headed out for Vee Quiva Casino about 1:00 Tuesday afternoon. I thought we wouldn’t run into quite as much traffic at that time of day. Wrong.

IMG_4284 Where in the world are all these people going in the middle of the day.

Thank goodness we weren’t going all that far. We were at the casino by 2:30. We were later joined by a Class A and a Class C. I had thought there would be several rigs but no.

The casino is nothing to get excited about. Just a squat building and not very pretty. I didn’t even take a picture of it.

But I did have to take a picture of the toilet. Now I don’t normally take pictures of toilets but I had never seen this before.

Push the green button and the toilet seat cover moves around to give you a clean seat. Just cracked me up. And they have the instructions in both English and Spanish

We spent a very peaceful night.

Wednesday morning Jan called when they (the other four rigs) were almost to the casino. We pulled down about two minutes before they got to us and we led the way to the Rally.

More tomorrow.

  2. I first came into contact with those moving seat covers in the Chicago airport many years ago. I didn't really know how it worked, but I sat down and after I finished I flushed and expected the seat cover to move. But it didn't. I don't know if I sat on the seat cover vacated by the person before me or not, but the next person got a clean cover! I prefer the paper covers you pull out of the dispenser!

  3. Those revolving toilet seat covers are fairly common in Travel Plazas throughout Europe. There's one chain that is predominantly in Germany, where the washrooms (sorry, you call then "rest rooms", although I've never felt the need to take too much of a rest...) are so clean it's amazing. Of course, there's a fee, which is something to get used to. The thing is though, we've found that we'll happily pay €,50 for the pleasure of using an honest to goodness clean "restroom". Clean ones are few and far between in North America. That's for sure.
Oh, and you needn't touch anything. It's all done by sensors.

  4. In 2008, I came across those moving covers at the University of Illinois Hospital. It must be very expensive to have those, it's a good contract for someone to put them in a hospital.

  6. Let us know how your Rally goes, Donna & I went to the Good Sams State Rally here in MO last year but she hated it, We didn't know anybody and nobody seemed to want to include the new guys in anything, Even after Rigg's won first prize in the Dog contest.Had one old Lady who who was indignant that someone would have such a big dog in an RV and that the judges thought it was better than her small yorkie.I guess we shouldn't let one bad experience stop us, but let us know how it goes. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna..

  11. Very interesting. My first thought was... does it just keep going in a circle, or does the used part go somewhere else and new plastic keeps coming out?
I have to admit, I hate those paper toilet seat covers. So that sounds like a good idea. :)

  14. They have those toilet seat covers in the Bozeman airport. My sister is a real clean nut and she really liked those seat covers until I asked her, "what makes you think a clean section comes out when you press the button, maybe it is just the same plastic going round and round all the time. :))!" She wasn't impressed!
