First, I want to answer a couple of questions that commenters have asked.
Judy asked if the Bungalow was going to have a fishing theme and the answer to that is no. Jim gets one fishing rig and that’s it. No, seriously, I haven’t even thought about a theme for it. After spending the money to get the necessities for the Bungalow any fun stuff will have to wait.
Dawn wanted to know if we have solar and the answer is no. We don’t boondock enough to make it worth the investment at this point. At least not for us. We use the inverter so I can watch TV and charge my computer off the rig’s batteries when we are boondocking. That means we don’t need to use the generator as often.
The battery tender is really not a necessity (we’ve been without one until now) but this way Jim can tell at a glance whether the batteries are losing their charge.
As far as multiplying like rabbits – it’s doctor appointments. When we started this week I thought we had two appointments this week and two next week and we would be done until November. Wrong! After the appointment this morning, we added two more appointments to next week.
I’m not sure what I’ve been doing but I’ve gotten way behind on reading blogs. Hopefully I’ll get caught up because when we leave town we’ll be back on our limited Verizon MIFI.
Jim got the riser installed on the toilet. We really like the higher toilet. So much easier to get up.
I have a major bug phobia so I hate the fact that you have to slide the panel open on the screen door to open the door. Just too much opportunity for bugs to get in. Jim took care of that problem for me. In case you’re interested, here are pictures of what he did.
It’s been hot here. We got to 100 both Saturday and Sunday. Today was 97. However, we have a cold front coming through tonight and tomorrow with 40 mph winds. On Wednesday the temperature is only going to be 77 before it starts heading back up to the 90’s.
Jim comes thru again! :c)
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the screen! It's seems like the flies always find a way in!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that I don't have the 100* to deal with. that will come soon enough here in CA. Right now it's been in the 40's at night and 70's during the day, but windy. Hope that you can get up north soon. Ted has been to visit and do some stuff for me.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for the pictures and explanation of the screen door latch!
ReplyDeleteStarting to get hot here, too. Hate it!!! I have friends who have themes for their trailers. I guess I'm just not that imaginative. It's a trailer to me. I'm with you, Sandie, I HATE bugs--any kind of bug, and it is surprising how fast they can get in. I have a lot of windows in the trailer so I don't use the screen door. You'd think I could look at the diagram and figure out what Jim did (I have the same kind of handle), but I just can't visualize it. Love seeing Jim's "magic". He's making the bungalow a small "palace". :)
ReplyDeleteThe riser now brings things up to throne level, fit for a queen. I did the door mod a few years ago. Works for me, but visitors never seem to figure it out.
ReplyDeleteHave you moved into the bungalow yet? I know you're getting anxious.
ReplyDeleteThe doctors lifestyle just loves us old folks.
ReplyDeleteI'm always so amazed at what Jim can do and the solutions he comes up with !! I sure can relate to a phobia !!!
ReplyDeleteI think the throne fix is the best one of all. :)
ReplyDeleteI love reading about other tips for the rig. Loved the door latch.
ReplyDeleteI like the higher throne too! You have quite the handy man there!
ReplyDeleteFriends of ours have a really short toilet; I like the tall ones.
ReplyDeleteI never understood why they would make a screen door where you had to open a big hole in it to make it work. What sense does that make?
Sure hope the extra appts. are just extra checkups and all is still well. Like your comment about ONE fishing rig! You get to decorate the TT they way YOU want that one! Pet the girls for me. (I can post on google but still not firefox. Cool here in LA this week and nice and still getting use to green grass and trees!
ReplyDeleteWe put something very similar on our 5th wheel door. Works super.
ReplyDeleteWe had a higher throne in our Winnebago, but have a "normal" one here in the Tiffin. I thought I'd have a hard time adjusting to the lower one, but it is just fine.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping that the extra appointments do not mean additional problems.
Seems like appointments not only multiply like rabbits but also grow exponentially the closer you get to a departure date.
ReplyDeleteWe would find those high temps too hot for us. We mistakenly put a higher toilet in our Damon. Problem was we already had a riser & nearly needed a ladder to use it. Camping world very graciously understood our/my mistake & switched it. I've always found that door handle problem annoying as well.
ReplyDeleteThat cool weather that is coming should really be a relief. I hope it stays cool for a while.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the bungalow is really taking shape, soon ready to head out.
ReplyDeleteDang--sorry to hear about the additional appointments--hope you two are alright. Love the screen door mod--Jim is super handy! Thank goodness for cooler weather--we're having unbelievable rain and even hail today! It's been a very wet spring here.
ReplyDeleteI've been noticing lately that most toilets in public places (as well as homes) are so low, and it's difficult to get back up. I've started using the handicapped ones when I'm out wherever they are available. Wish I had a taller one at home.
ReplyDeleteWhat a handy husband you have, Sandie ... he can do anything... catch dinner... make a toilet higher .... make a door close... dang!
