Hey Readers – Bill over at The Journey to our Dream has a countdown of 8 years to be a full timer. He has lots of great questions, some of which I can help him with, others I have no idea. He has some questions about solar and since we don’t have any solar I was hoping some of you might go on over to his blog and give him some good info. Thanks.
Jim has been catching lately. Things are looking up and we have filets in the freezer. These are bass.
We got the parts for our Fantastic Fan and Jim got it all cleaned up and put back together. It looks like a new fan and it sure is nice to have a fan to move the air around again.
Monday we had a great lunch get together with blogger friends. Ray’s the only one who got a picture, so we’re all using his.
Gordon and Juanita are in the front of the picture. On the left is Rod, Jim, me, Susan (you can barely see her), Ray and Cindy.
Good friends, good food – doesn’t get much better than that.
After leaving the restaurant Jim and I headed for the doctor’s office in Mesa. Aunt Happy was meeting with the doctor who did the surgery on her pacemaker. I wanted to be there with her because she doesn’t have her hearing aids and I was afraid she might not hear everything the doctor said to her. Jim parked the truck, we got out and turned around and the bus from the rehab place pulled up right in front of us. Talk about great timing. But the doctor certainly didn’t have great timing. We waited for over an hour before we got in to see him.
Happy is healing very well and is getting stronger but she’s not ready to go home yet. She has accepted that now and is working hard to get her strength back.
We got home, had dinner, and then collapsed.
Good for Aunt Happy !!!! Hope she continues to plug along and regain her strength .... So glad she is not going home ahead of schedule .... No use rushing !!!
ReplyDeleteThe fish looked good .... And the lunch crowd looked happy !!!
Great news about Aunt Happy !
ReplyDeleteI'll check out Bill's Blog - but I don't think I'd be able to start a count down for EIGHT YEARS !!
I'm glad Aunt Happy is facing reality. That can be so difficult when you know what you want to do, but you know you just shouldn't - or can't - do it.
ReplyDeleteJim is certainly catching some gorgeous fish! How will you fix them, or does Jim cook them?
Glad Aunt Happy is doing better. Seems like there is always a wait to see the doctor no matter what.
ReplyDeleteI sure like those fantastic fans - bet you're enjoying having yours back up and running.
So glad Jim is catching fish. John was going to fish last night, but the wind really picked up. Today the temps dropped from 80s yesterday to the 30's today. Quite a change. Sounds like Aunt Happy was on her good behavior.
ReplyDeleteNice fish! We look forward to fishing in all the states!
ReplyDeleteIf he's been on the road for eight years, I'm sure he could tell us a few things too. Some days are exhausting and others not so. Rest, relax and then go again.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking fish! Yum! Glad to hear that Aunt Happy is doing okay... physically and other wise ;-)
ReplyDeleteI answered the 8 year plan guy as well.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear about the fish (not for me ;( ) and Aunt Happy.
We love fresh fish. Good job, Jim.
ReplyDeleteYea for Aunt Happy. She is such a smart gal. Glad she is getting stronger each day.
So nice to have fish in the freezer! We have awhile till fishing season but Jim's already looking forward to having some salmon to smoke. So glad Aunt Happy is happy with the doctor's decision. Maybe new lingerie will speed her recovery!
ReplyDeleteGreat that Aunt Happy is doing better and will soon be spry as ever.
ReplyDeleteGood catch, Jim. I can see that beautiful smile with those new teeth even from that distance.
ReplyDeleteWas starting to wonder where you had been! We tried to connect with Rod while we were in Maricopa but it didn't work out.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see the fishing is good there. All Al caught yesterday was some seaweed!
ReplyDeleteThat picture of the lunch has been well circulated. Should have been copy written.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Aunt Happy is doing better.
A fixed fan is a good thing! I run one in the bedroom every night for "white noise"...drowns out the trains and dogs. So glad Aunt Happy is healing up and gaining strength!
ReplyDeleteNice lookin' fish!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone that posted a comment on my blog. The reason it it will take me 8 years to begin full timing is I need to save money and wait until the housing market turns around. I took a beating with my house.
Thanks again.
Bill
Those fish sure look good.
ReplyDeletegood for Aunt Happy ... bless her ol heart... it's also hard on those of us who have watch someone you admire and love go through the hell of aging and infirmity ... sigh
ReplyDeleteyay! fish!
Looks like the makings for a fine fish fry.
ReplyDeleteYour aunt is sure a tough cookie:))
ReplyDeleteYum....a fish fry!
ReplyDeleteGreat news about Aunt Happy!
Good looking fish. Been over a month since I had a chance to follow any blogs. Having fun catching up. Have safe travels and keep the photo's and information coming.
ReplyDeleteGlad Aunt Happy is doing well and accepting that she has to recover more before going home. That's a good incentive for her.
ReplyDeleteLOVE having fish in the freezer - especially fresh - lucky you!
I have a Fantastic Fan, too - but you should see it. JIM! Come and clean mine! I'm just going to have to get the screwdriver out and take it apart and wash the screen and blades - it's so dirty! :)
Sorry we missed the lunch, looks like a good time. Good news about happy; fishing and Aunt.
