STILL WAITING

We will be seeing the Oncologist this afternoon so hopefully we’ll have a few more answers.

Jim is fishing which is by far the best therapy for him while we just sit and wait.

As for me, my therapy is eating anything and everything.

  1. I'm holding my breath for you and Jim, Sandie. You're so kind to everyone else-the waiting has to be maddening-the worst part.

It's good Jim can lose himself in fishing...makes time go by. I can't imagine what you're going through and so wish I could help.

I'm hoping, like my sister-in-law, it will be quick surgery or treatment and done. Just so you know it sometimes happens that way.

  2. Just want you to know that I'm thinking of you and praying for the best results. I certainly understand your burden. I've traveled the Big C (cancer) highway and it is a rocky old road. Keep the faith, fight, cling together, and keep an eye on the future. The two of you, together, will win the war.

  3. Know that God is with you on this - your next adventure. Be strong, waiting is the hard part - the intangible. Once you have some answers you'll know how to deal with it.

You can always rely on your blogging friends - they are the BEST!!!

I always love the saying "There is more to fishing than catching fish."

    Prayers going up.

  4. I'm hoping for the best for ya'll. Fishing is a good thing for Jim. It's probably very relaxing. Eating, not so much...I know that from personal experience. Now, what can I eat that doesn't eat me first?? Not good...I'm there now. Pass the chips!
    Take care

  5. You are on my prayer list. It's good that Jim is still out fishing. We need to get you a hobby, you don't want to get sick from eating too much. I know that route, have been there, done that. I also bite my nails, not good.

  6. We are praying with you, and for you, during this rough patch of road. It is never easy, but how wonderful you have each other. Draw strength from that, and from God - He will get you through!

  9. Relate to the eating part. And veggie sticks are NOT doing it! Hang in there, kid, this too shall pass.

  13. With a heartfelt "I'm sorry" please forgive me!! With the latest trips to the Vet with Nick I have been very sporadic in checking blogs. Somehow I just got around to reading about Jim.
We are so sorry to hear this news and want you and Jim to know we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
Please keep us updated. Again, please forgive me for being late with this!!

  15. Glad Jim is out on the water enjoying himself. Eating isn't going to get that phone to ring but might make you feel better. Thinking of you two and saying my prayers.

  16. Lots of fishing, good for him, being outside and concentrating on the next fish. Maybe crocheting for u? Puzzles??? Anything that keeps the mind busy. During my trials with the big C I did a huge amount of crossword puzzles (because they're portable) and also jigsaw puzzles....they make u concentrate and don't leave room for the stuff u don't need to be worrying about anyway. At first u have to make urself do it but it does become easier, especially when the treatments begin and u know ur on the upswing. Positive thoughts do much more than we realize....they really do make a HUGE difference. Pray about it, ask for His help and ask Him to handle it....then put ur thoughts elsewhere and let Him handle it. If we ask for His help and then sit and worry it seems to be that we don't trust Him. It will get easier as time goes on. God bless u both with serenity and an enjoyment of every day...I've found that even the bad days r good.

  18. I posted my favorite verse but don't see it now. So,
    Joshua 1:9
21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed, for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."
