As Toni and Doug were pulling out, I was “helping” Jim get everything ready for our departure. I needed to finish up a couple of things inside so I went around the back of the Motor Home and walked right into the corner of our bedroom slide.
The blood started pouring and I started screaming for Jim. He came tearing around the RV and from the other direction came our next door neighbors, Art and Cindy. Turns out they were recently retired emergency room nurses and they immediately took over. Thank goodness.
They cleaned out the gash, pulled the skin together, and put some butterfly bandages on it to hold it together until I could get to the clinic. What wonderful angels and I didn’t even get a picture of them. Found out they are from Cheyenne, WY and that’s about it. Got a picture of their rig though.
Finally found where the clinic was and headed up there for the doctor to take a look. By this time I had a pretty good headache even after taking 3 Tylenol. The doctor agreed to see me (thank goodness they weren’t real busy) and told me that since the nurses had done such a good job of pulling the skin together that she was just going to glue my head shut and we could be on our way.
So now I am glued together. And the girls are going nuts trying to get to my sore to take care of it. In a couple of days Jim is going to have to cut off all the hair with the glue on it. I don’t have much hair to begin with so it’s sad to lose more of it.
