Trip South

Helena, MT   High 75  Low 44

Just wanted to let you know the reason we are headed for hot, hot, hot Arizona so early is because Jim’s doctors really think he needs a check up. His oncologist originally wanted us back in August but we finally convinced him that September would work.

We’ve stayed in Montana longer than we originally planned so our trip down south is going to be a pretty direct drive. Remember, we only travel around 150 miles a day, although on this trip we will probably have some 200 mile days in order to get there on time.

I have made a few plans for sightseeing along the way but not as much as I would like to do.

When Jim found out his doctor appointments were going to be in September, he set up a guided fishing trip on Lake Pleasant on the 15th of September. Now you can understand why we have to get down there.

  2. Hey, Jim and Sandie, what part of Arizona are you coming to? After last evening's thunderstorm and heavy rain, we are not expecting hot hot hot today, but we'll save some heat for when you arrive. If you will be in the Tucson part of the state, we'd like to get together with you. Of course, Suzy is having a knee replacement a week from today, so she won't do a lot of traveling for a while!

  4. Hi Sandie......Hopefully things will check out o.k. down South. I know it is a long drive especially when you are in a hurry to get there. We don't drive anymore than around 200 miles a day anymore either.....just getting too old, I guess. LOL LOL

  9. The States that we did not visit are the "HOT" ones,as they require us to change the seasons-travel in the winter and spend summer at home.
We are still not ready for that.
Have great trip and thanks for your kind comments.

  11. Now I get it! Maybe the fish Jim catches will be pre-cooked? :)

  12. Sounds like ya got 10 days to get there, so perhaps that won't be too bad of a drive.... But the last time I saw it your lot looked just like it did when you left......

But fishing and Doctors, now that makes more sense.... We bought that portable AC over at Costco, but we didn't leave it there..... Too bad, we could have, just didn't think of it..

  16. Safe travels. Most of our trips are abut 200-250 miles. Really not too bad but thats about the max otherwise we are too tired by the time we get everything setup.
