Just down the road from us is Two Moon Park. This is a small day use park on the banks of the Yellowstone River. Due to all the flooding this year, the park was closed up until about a month ago.
Jim and I wanted to take a break so we drove down to the park to see if the flooding had done much damage. Since the park is quite small, there is only one picnic table which is a long distance from the water. So other than losing some of the shore to the river, no damage.
The park is also close to the bike/hiking trail. Billings has a pretty extensive bike trail that runs up over the rims and down along the river. Parts of the trail weren’t useable because the river was over the top of it. But it’s all back into use now that the river is receding.
I'll have to make a note to myself about that bike trail in Billings!

ReplyDeleteYou said you needed to take a break??? That's like me saying I need a vacation. Maybe we both need to go back to work to rest. This life is getting to us.
ReplyDeletelooks like a nice park for a picnic!!
ReplyDeleteNice pics! Glad to hear the flooding didn't do any serious damage to the park.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how that Park got it's name. Sounds like an Indian origin. Say, I wonder if that old song from the early 60's, 'Running Bear' has anything to do with those two moons:))
ReplyDeleteNice place!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great park. You sure live in a nice area.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a nice park. Kevin and I would sure like that bike trail.
