Goat Yoga For Every Body

Gilbert, AZ    morning temp of upper 70s with sunshine so just about perfect.

I'm sure some of you out there have done goat yoga. I hope you had as much fun as we did.

I was trying to find something for the three of us to do and found Baby Goat Yoga in Gilbert. Baby goats - could anything be sweeter than that.

AZ Goat Yoga has been featured on Americas Got Talent and are in the Guinness Book of World Records.

One major problem. The three of us girls are "older" so the thought of getting down on the ground and doing yoga was NOT happening. (But it's baby goats!)

So I got hold of one of the instructors and asked whether we could bring chairs and pet the goats while we watched everybody else actually do goat yoga. As long as we were willing to pay for the class, we were more than welcome.

What an experience. We arrived about 8:30 for a 9:00 a.m. class. They told us to go on in and set up our chairs over by the pen where they kept the baby goats. Just make sure we weren't in the way of those who were actually there to do yoga.

We no sooner sat down then the instructors and helpers were there with three baby goats for us to hold. And I mean babies. Mine was three days old and I think the other two were five days old. The softest, cutest things ever.

My little girl snuggled right into my arms and fell asleep. After a few minutes I began to feel my body relaxing along with hers and all was right with the world. I got to hold her the whole hour we were there. I know Pat and Marilyn felt the same way.

Sorry about the fat finger in the picture. She was so sweet.

It was really fun to watch everybody else actually doing yoga with the bigger goats (they are pygmy goats so not real big even as adults). It's amazing what the goats will do for a treat from the instructors. There is one pose where the goats go underneath the people. And lots of goats on their backs. And lots of goats just wandering around being goats.

They also have a couple of alpacas entertaining everyone. One of them came over to nuzzle us (but it's because the instructor put a treat on our shoulder).

This little one got stuck under my chair and was happily munching on grass and could have cared less.

This baby was hungry. He was in the pen and started bleating for mama. She came running across the field and they let the baby out. He knew exactly what he wanted.

It was a fantastic adventure and we want to do it again next year. Baby Goat Yoga is definitely for every body even if you can't get on the ground.

Catch Up Post

AJ AZ  Temperatures are all over the place. From breaking records with 99 degrees back down to the 40's at night. We even got some wonderful rain for a couple of days but that's long gone by now. My allergies are driving me crazy. Lots of sneezing and nose either running or stuffed up. But I wouldn't trade our weather for anywhere else in the states.

Since I haven't blogged for awhile this is going to be a catch up post. Life has been busy and lots of good times.

Had good friends pull into our park for a week. I saw them last summer in Billings, MT. Tina and Woody were here to go to some spring training games and spend time with their granddaughter.

I did get to fit in a dinner with them and Paul even with their busy schedule.

I am so grateful to have such a good friend in my life. Paul is always there for me when I need something done or questions answered. This time around he installed a new shower head for me and checked out my water tank because he is going to change the anode rod for me. So many maintenance things to be done. Thank you Paul.

Went to Bisbee Breakfast Club with Pat, Marilyn, and Tacey (who is Pat's granddaughter). We were having such a good time I forgot to get a picture. My next post will be another adventure that we had.

Ginny and I went to the AJ Library to check out their book sale. These two were waiting very patiently for their owners to come out of the library.  Parts of AJ are still like they were when we first started coming here for the winter.  But growth is everywhere and we are becoming nothing but another crowded suburb of Mesa.

I finally had to get rid of the love seat in my rv. It was shedding thousands of little dark brown pieces of fabric everywhere and on everybody. I hired 1-800-Got-Junk and out it went. I'm borrowing a chair from a good friend here in the park until the new one I bought arrives. Time for spring cleaning.

For the month of February our park donated 72 containers of disinfectant wipes for an elementary school that had sent out a request on Just Service. My trunk was a little full. Then for the month of March, it was Pasta Pallooza time at the food bank. This time I collected 74 boxes of pasta.

And you know this section had to show up. Yup - pictures galore of my family. I am so looking forward to this summer to spend some time with them again. Elias is growing up so fast.
